Many of us have to go to bed hungry at some point. I hope that your particular situation did not last long, that you are well, and that your stomach is full. But when you are at risk of starvation and have no way to get food and help, that is when you need help.
And those who help need help, and that is exactly what is happening today at the Yakima Humane Society!
The Yakima Humane Society is putting out a call on social media to help fill their Pet Pantry! Pet food (preferably dry) of any size or brand is greatly appreciated.
“Our public pet pantry runs strictly on donations, and we need your help!” – YHS Facebook
You can drop off your food donations during operating hours, 10 am to 5 pm (closed for lunch from 12:30 to 1:30). If getting out of the store is a hassle, cash is welcome, or you can buy something from their Amazon wish list.
Filling the Pet Pantry is the top priority (after finding forever homes for these beloved pets). But if you can donate anything, that would be amazing.
Donation items requested by the Yakima Humane Society:
Bath Towels
Blankets (no comforter or electric)
Cat and Kitten Food (Pedigree or Purina)
Cat Toys
Chewy Dog Treats
Dish Soap (no citrus or lemon scented)
Dog Beds
Dog and Puppy Food (Pedigree or Purina)

For a complete list of items available to the Yakima Humane Society, check out their website: YakimaHumane.org. Again, cash is always a good donation if you can’t get to the store or just don’t have the time. On the other hand, if you can’t afford to donate but have spare time, they can always use volunteer help.
