Nostalgic Australians are rushing to Big W after discovering the store is selling a popular toy from their childhood.
Shoppers are buzzing with news that the latest generation of Littlest Pet Shop toys has hit the retailer’s shelves, months after they launched in the US.
These adorable collectible animals come in pairs for $24 or a trio for $19 and there are over 65 types to collect.
A customer in Melbourne shared their excitement for the release online after seeing the toys in stores.
‘This is your signal to RUN to Big W to buy a new LPS, for nostalgia’s sake,’ they say.
Others are keen to get their hands on the collectible toys and are sharing which Big W stores they found them at.
‘I was like, OMG, this is a sign that the world is getting better,’ one woman said.
‘When I was younger I never got any LPS but I loved the TV show so it literally heals my inner child,’ wrote a second.
‘Thanks for posting this! I’m waiting to see if they will be released in Australia considering the previous ones were only released in America,’ replied a third.
‘Omg. my little one is very happy. I hope they continue so my kids can collect them in the future,’ added another.
Littlest Pet Shops toys are based on characters from the 1995 TV show of the same name that was discontinued but relaunched in 2005.
Since the first launch 20 years ago there have been several ‘generations’ of toys with three series each.
The new Series One Generation Seven bobble-headed animal figurines include a panda, cat, axolotl and anteater.
The all-new Littlest Pet Shop Petfluencer Pairs Collectable Figures with Virtual Code come with two pets and a collectible card for each pet with a unique personality, breed, and rarity level.
Purchases are available in Big W stores or online, however if purchased online packs will be selected at random.
Those looking for a specific variant are advised to visit their local Big W store.
