I had to visit the children’s hospital this week, and I started work before my human even signed us in. A mother came to the front desk with a little girl with her arm in a cast, and I was there for her. pet!
I saw many patients and families in the lobby. Some of them don’t speak English, which of course doesn’t matter because kittens speak all languages. My person brought my bell and I got to ring it for some of the kids, along with giving high fives.
I saw different types of children in the exam rooms. A young disabled boy was with his whole family. I spent time with all of them, but my man made sure to take a photo for my family sitting next to the boy’s wheelchair. Then there was the boy in the middle of getting a cast on his arm. I was able to get into some pets with his other arm. And I also saw a little girl who broke her arm when she fell from the monkey bars. He was really happy to see me.
I have to say, I have mixed feelings about those instamatic photos my man takes! I mean, you’ve seen my outtakes from my normal photo sessions, right? Well, on this visit, I saw a teenage girl who wanted a photo with me, and my guy took it — he looked nice, but I had my eyes closed and my tongue was sticking out! They both thought it was the funniest thing ever.
I still had time so we went up to the rehab and visited the waiting room there. One mother had a baby that didn’t respond well to me. But he took his hand and rubbed it on my fur so he could feel the texture. Another child I visited there was the most adorable little girl in a wheelchair. So my man made me do some tricks, and I grabbed his hand with my foot. It was a great way to end my visit.
