I got to have a therapy cat visit at the big hospital this week, and I’m having fun with the patients!
I got to Pediatrics right after a few kids left, so I only got to see two girls. But they were wonderful visits. The first girl was amazing – she completely lost the energy of the cat. He knows very well how to take care of me and make me feel at home. Soon I was enthusiastically moaning and having fun. My man showed him how to high five me so we did the same. My man even got an Instamatic shot while we high fived! I almost didn’t want to leave.
The second girl is also sweet. He was sicker so he lay on the bed while he rubbed me. I settled down and purred lots for him. He loves kittens and his mother says he often visits with the neighbor’s cat. He promised to get his own when he recovered.
We also visited Skilled Nursing, where many adult patients stay for long periods of time. In the first room we entered, the woman was very happy and spread her arms. He had cats at home, and he missed them so much. He was so happy that he started crying. So I spent a lot of time with him. He and his daughter were so grateful that I came to be with him.
We also visited an elderly woman, sitting in a hospital wheelchair with her hand wrapped in gauze. She only spoke Spanish, and I think her hearing was difficult because her two children and the nurse kept repeating what they told her. Which was actually kind of good for my human because she knows a bit of Spanish and it made it easier to understand them. She was a nice girl and hugged me several times.
It was a great visit! Everyone was very nice, and I had a very relaxing time. The big hospital was a bit overwhelming and stressful for me because we were all over the place there. But I had such a good time, I didn’t even complain about being in the carrier on the ride home.
Here are some other times I visited this hospital:
