If you have a high-energy dog, you know how important it is to keep them rich and busy in order to stay happy and healthy. Plus, it helps when that boundless energy isn’t channeled into wreaking havoc in your home. Toys can be a great source of stimulation, and although your pup probably doesn’t care much what they look like, having toys around your home is definitely an instant serotonin booster.
If you’re looking for some great new toys for the dog in your life, you might be surprised to learn that one of the cutest viral toys isn’t at Petsmart or Petco, but at IKEA. If you’ve ever passed by the beloved retailer’s children’s section, you’ve probably seen some of the adorable faux food play sets they have to offer. But according to TikTok, they can be easily repurposed as dog toys.
Content creator Pina (@maybeitspina) recently made this argument in a video spotlighting IKEA’s DUKTIG set ($12.99), which contains six adorable buns inspired by iconic cinnamon buns store buns and other delicious foods. These polyester toys snap together with a touch-and-close fastening, so they’re easy to pop out and put on a kid’s baking tray … or top with dog treats to keep your pup’s mind active as they do Pina said to him.
“IKEA essentials for your dog,” she wrote in the caption.
Clearly, many other pet parents are willing to reuse the toy. Since Pina shared her TikTok, the video has garnered over 26,000 likes and 2 million views.
“Mine will eat the food and the rolls,” joked one commenter.
“I made my cousin a toy to play with,” commented another user. “He’ll still like it.”
Dog and kid approved!
