LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Six hundred pounds of fish and 250 pounds of potatoes. That’s what St. went through. Johns near 78th and Vine streets every Friday during their fish-fry events.
Every week, they serve over a thousand people who come from all over, sometimes as far as Omaha, for what they say is the best fish around.
“We have a secret recipe for fried fish that they won’t tell me the recipe and I know people like friendliness, all the people here are friendly,” Phil Wolfe, St. John’s Fish Fry.
The fish fry lasted until 7 pm St. John’s has four more fish fries planned. Meals are $12 for an adult and $6 for a child, which includes ice cream, fries, baked potatoes, coleslaw, hush puppies, bread, fresh fruit, pickles and all-you-can-eat fish.
All money received goes to various non-profits around town.
