SANTA BARBARA, Calif.-The 2024 Fly Fishing Film Tour is coming to Santa Barbara.
The Santa Barbara Fly Fishers are hosting an event at the Lobero Theater on Tuesday, March 19.
Santa Barbara Fly Fishers Board Members say more people, including women and children, are interested in fishing and conservation.
They say you can fly fish the beach or the local mountain streams.
Featured filmmakers have traveled the world to show fly fishing in action.
“There will be unique photography in the Amazon, amazing rivers and streams that will get people excited to fish,” said board member John Grace.
Fellow board member George Zengel said people who enjoy the outdoors can add it to their hiking activities.
“All you have to do is carry a backpack with a fly rod and throw it in a river or creek when you’re going up there and relax,” Zengel said.
The Fly Fishing Film Tour begins with a reception at the Lobero Theater on Tuesday, March 19 at 5:30 pm
The movie will follow at 7 pm
There will also be door prizes that include Mountain Air Sports and Hook Line and Sinker gift cards and a raffle that includes Mammoth Getaway and a day of Fishing the Surf with Casey Cloud.
