Imagine if you stopped at an ATM machine to withdraw money and discovered a fish taped to the screen…that wasn’t an imaginary event in Provo, Utah last year, because it actually happened in some ATM locations, among other things.
According to an article on ksltv.com by Pat Reavy and Eliza Pace, Provo law enforcement officials reported that a teenage individual is now facing legal action and has been ordered to appear in 4th District Juvenile Court. This follows allegations of placing fish in ATMs from August to November of 2023. The incidents, which involved placing fish in ATMs, resulted in multiple counts of misdemeanor property damage being pursued against the 17-year-old who is suspect. Authorities suspect the teenager may have been involved in several other similar incidents, including a fish taped to a police vehicle, as they discovered additional evidence during their investigation, including the discovery of an Instagram account under the username “fish_bandit84”.
