Two people have been arrested after a video of them punching and kicking a dog at a pet clinic in Thane, Maharashtra went viral. On February 13, a complaint was filed with the police regarding the incident. The incident took place at Vetic Pet Clinic, located at R Mall in Thane. The clinic specializes in grooming and caring for pets.
In the video, a pet clinic employee can be seen repeatedly punching the Chow Chow dog in the face and back. A man filming the incident was also seen hitting the dog as it struggled. The dog is then seen getting off the stretcher and out of the room as the man continues to kick it.
Many people, including some Bollywood actors, have expressed their anger over the viral video. Currently, visuals of the same miscreant arrested by the Thane police are surfacing online. The names of the two arrested individuals have not yet been released. Meanwhile, the police shut down the pet clinic.

“This is a deeply disturbing incident involving a pet and 2 of our groomers. As pet parents and animal lovers, this is shocking and completely unacceptable to us. As a first step, we have immediately terminated the two and have logged a formal investigation in this regard. We are also working with the authorities and have initiated police action in this regard,” said a Vetic Pet Clinic, Thane spokesperson told the Free Press Journal ( FPJ).
Nilesh Bhange, a trustee of animal rights organization PAWS, and several other people filed an anonymous complaint after the video went viral on social media, an official told news agency PTI. A magistrate’s order is required before police can look into an anonymous complaint, according to reports.
Later, a video of the dog was uploaded on Street Dogs of Bombay’s Instagram page, with the organization claiming to be “Being the Voice for All Animals.” The post also stated that the accused was taken into custody.
