PHOENIX, AZ – Maricopa County Animal Care & Control (MCACC) is excited to host another Care on the Go community event this year to continue offering free services to help keep pets in their homes and give them the best chance for a healthy life.
In January 2024, MCACC held their second Care on the Go event, which resulted in over 80 pets receiving free services such as vaccines, microchips, and licensing.
“The return of Care on the Go is a huge success,” said Kim Powell, Communications Supervisor. “We’ve had a huge demand to host this event again, and it’s reflected in the great turnout we’ve had. Appointments are booked up quickly, so if you can’t make the event in January, don’t worry because we are pleased to offer it again this March!”
Canine parvovirus and distemper—the most common deadly diseases affecting dogs—can be prevented with a simple vaccine. An estimated 30% of pet parents do not take their pet to a veterinarian annually for preventative care. To ensure the health and well-being of our beloved pets and to meet this critical need, MCACC, the #LovePup Foundation and Petco Love have teamed up to make pet vaccines, microchips, and license.
On March 2nd, from 7:30am-12:30pm, MCACC will be offering Rabies vaccinations and licensing to dog owners at no charge. Vaccines distributed through the Petco Love initiative will be DA2PP, and microchips will be available for dogs who need them thanks to the #LovePup Foundation. The free DA2PP vaccines are made possible through Petco Love’s national vaccination initiative Vaccinated and Loved, which provides one million more free pet vaccines for family pets in need. current partner in animal welfare, including Maricopa County Animal Care and Control.
This drive-thru style event is for dogs only. Please register online by Wednesday, February 28th by 5:30pm. Services will be provided only to those with an appointment; no walk-ups. Limit three appointments per person. Each dog must have an individual appointment.
