New distillery opens in Knowlton
Knowlton House Distillery in Knowlton is officially open. The distillery opened last month and offers tours, classes, craft cocktails and food near Mullins Cheese.
Luke and Heather Mullins founded Knowlton House Distillery, which produces whisky, vodka and gin. The distillery brings together the expertise and passion from Luke – a fourth-generation cheesemaker with Mullins Cheese – and Heather – a product development scientist with a master’s degree in brewing science. Construction on the distillery began in September.
Knowlton House Distillery’s main product line is called TenHead, and it includes vodka and gin made from pure milk sugar, a byproduct of cheese making. According to a release from the distillery, visitors were surprised to hear the vodka is distilled from milk sugar, as there are only a few distilleries in the world that do this.
Heather said the community has embraced the new distillery, filling the cocktail lounge within 15 minutes of opening the doors for the first time.
According to the release, people can expect to find TenHead spirits in liquor stores, bars and restaurants later this fall.

A new pet grooming salon has opened in Plover
A new pet grooming salon is in the works in Plover. Plover Rover opened Sept. 20 and held a grand opening celebration Saturday at 3021 Patton Drive in Plover.
According to The Plover Rover website, Brooke Wiza and Annie Clark previously operated Happy Paws in Wisconsin Rapids before opening The Plover Rover shop. The website says it is a luxury one-on-one based groomer shop that provides a more relaxed experience to fit each specific pet.
“Our top priority is your dog’s safety and comfort,” the website says. “We’re not going to drive a dog just to fix a boyfriend, instead we’re going to work with you to help achieve a happier experience.”
The grooming service offers grooming packages that include a full haircut, bath, brush out, coat blow-out, nail trimming and more for extra-small through extra-large dogs. Customers can add additional treatments for appointments as well.

Starbucks will reopen in Crossroads Commons
The Starbucks at Crossroads Commons is open again after interior renovation crews.
The location at 120 Crossroads Drive was temporarily closed last month during construction. A banner outside the location at the time directed people to a QR code with a list of other locations to visit, including on Division Street in Stevens Point, Plover Road in Plover and inside Metro Market in Stevens Point.
