Nestlé Hungária will invest Є141 million (US $152 million) in its pet food plant in Bük, boosting capacity and creating 130 jobs.
According to reports, Nestlé will set up a new production unit and install two automated production lines at the facility. The plant will have the capacity to produce 500,000 tons of pet food a year from 2025, up from 200,000 tons in 2019, about 85% of which will be exported.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said the state will provide the necessary infrastructure developments for investment, the minister added.
The project is part of the company’s five-year, Є772 million (US $831 million) investment plan that began in 2020, Nestlé Hungaria managing director Péter Noszek said.

The company reported strong organic growth in its pet care products through 2022. Long the leader in the US market, Nestlé Purina also operates pet food factories in 19 countries.
