Scrounging for food scraps and searching for warmth as the temperature drops is a daily ordeal for stray dogs. This challenge is even more terrifying for small puppies who lose their mother’s warmth and protection, leaving them vulnerable and alone, longing for human kindness. Ace, a little puppy, experienced this harsh reality as he sat in a store parking lot, longing for his mother’s comfort. In his absence, he felt a great sadness.
The puppy caught the attention of passers-by with its sad and pleading look. He desperately hoped that someone would offer him warmth and comfort. Deanna Tsosie, a seasoned dog rescuer, was deeply moved when a compassionate individual from the Navajo reservation notified her about a small black puppy found sleeping alone in an Ace Hardware store parking lot .
Tsosie learned that the puppy was about 4-5 weeks old and had been abandoned. Concerned for his welfare, he goes to the store and discovers the puppy seeking shelter from the cold next to a parked car. As Tsosie attempted to approach and comfort him, the frightened puppy hid behind the wheel of the car. However, Tsosie’s gentle confidence coaxes him out of his hiding place, and he begins to trust her.
Tsosie, who named the puppy Ace, searched the area for any sign of his family but there was none. Ace is alone. Holding him, Tsosie could clearly see the longing in Ace’s eyes for a place where he could be loved. Determined to make a better future for him, Tsosie contacted Az Hidden Jem Rescue in Phoenix, Arizona, who agreed to take Ace into their care.
After watching his rescue video, the rescue team immediately fell in love with Ace, noticing his resemblance to a lost little bear full of confusion. Ace was rushed to a vet, where he was diagnosed with mange and prescribed treatment.
A loving foster family provided by the Phoenix-based rescue took Ace into their home, offering him the care and love he needed. Ace embraces his new life with joy, soaking up the love from his foster family and playing with his new siblings, a litter of adorable kittens.
Once fully recovered, Ace will begin the search for his permanent home. It is hoped that Ace will effortlessly find a family that will give him the endless love and care he deserves.
