WITH the festive season approaching, almost all pet boarding houses in major cities in China are full, with some even seeing service charges increase by nearly 50%, Sin Chew Daily reported.
The report stated that the daily rent for a 9 sq m room with sunlight is 252 yuan (RM166) while a VIP room with a courtyard costs 357 yuan (RM235) per day.
Many dog and cat lovers have to find temporary pet care services for their furry friends just to keep them comfortable while traveling during Chinese New Year. This has resulted in high demand for such services.
A pet lover, who only wanted to be known as Wang from Anhui province, said he and his family will be going out of town to celebrate Chinese New Year this year.
He said during his absence, the pet shop will be responsible for the pet’s food, drink, hygiene and health.
“This pet shop also provides bathing and grooming services. One can take videos of the kitten at any time to know about its status,” he said.
