A brand new interior collection from IKEA gives pet accessories the stylish attention they deserve.
IKEA has released a colorful range of pets designed not only to brighten up homes across the country, but also to meet the various daily needs of an animal.
The 29-strong collection, named UTSÅDD, focuses on the four main areas of interest for our four-legged friends: eating, sleeping, playing and hiding.
The products that feature in the range are all designed to make these activities enjoyable for both pets and people – from double-sided anti-slip placemats, to ultra-soft blankets and cozy water-repellent bedding.
While substance is a central theme of the collection, style also flows throughout, as seen in the first glance images of rattan pet houses and playful ceramic food bowls. Elsewhere, you’ll find bone-shaped yellow dog toys, handy sofa throws and cat tents that go perfectly with IKEA’s iconic KALLAX shelving unit.
The brand says that while all the pieces look the part, it’s also committed to ensuring pet safety. As a result, the range was developed with input from veterinarians, pet product experts, and a fun panel of cats and dogs.
Each product is also designed with practicality in mind, with features such as dishwasher and refrigerator-safe bowls and machine-washable beds.
“At IKEA, we believe that pets are family. Our goal is to develop a collection of products that our cats and dogs love and that their human parents can feel good and truly enjoy being part of their home,” says Julia Rosenberg, product design developer at IKEA.
The collection, which has been two years in the making, will be available in stores and online from April 2024.
