“POV: your dog gives you the silent treatment all day after going to the groomer,” the owner wrote in the caption.
The shaven goldendoodle, Benny, can be seen looking out the car window as he looks away from his owner after the grooming.
“You look so handsome. You look really handsome. Benny, can you look at your mama? He’s ignored me because I took him to the groomer,” the owner said in the video.
Despite tireless attempts to get his attention, Benny still refused to look at his owner.
“He does this every time. Benny. Benny, you look so handsome. Benny, can I have a kiss? Benny, can Mommy have a kiss? Benny, I love you. You’re a good boy,” she said.
Finally the dog broke but only for a moment. He caught a glimpse of his owner as he asked: “Do you want a treat?”
The owner said that his dog needed a trim because it was hot and it would relieve his body heat.

Although their coat varies from dog to dog, with some curly/woolly and others straight/curly, according to Tuft, an online grooming scheduling provider in the UK

TikTok users thought Benny’s defiance was hysterical.
“He was like ‘just take me home. I can’t even with you’,” said Julie. “Benny’s not taking calls right now,” Kallie joked.
“Benny is bamboozled,” Aelissa Rodriquez said. “He said take me and I’ll think about it,” said Shirley Sanchez.
“Benny is looking for his new owners in that parking lot,” said one user.
Others criticized the owner’s decision to euthanize his dog because of the heat.
“It’s not good to shave their coats because they use it to keep cool,” advised one user.
Conversely, fur coats serve to prevent dogs from overheating, according to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
“While you or I don’t want to sport multiple layers in 100-degree weather, your pets’ fur coats actually provide them with heat relief,” the website article says.
