While it’s still a bit cold, it’s never too early to think about fishing. There are a few days when you can fish in Indiana without a license in 2024.
As you know, we have tons of places in the Hoosier State where you can cast a line on the water and enjoy a day full of fishing. I know it’s only February, but I can’t wait to get out in my kayak or go fishing in my friend’s boat. It’s one of my favorite pastimes. Hopefully, it will start to warm up sooner rather than later so we can do that, but in the meantime, we can wait as patiently as possible and start planning fishing trips. Whether it’s with friends, family, or just you, a day at the lake is better than a day at work, right?
Fishing is something the whole family can enjoy together, but if you are 17 years of age and older, you must first purchase your fishing license. That said, there are some exceptions to that law in Indiana. Each year, the state of Indiana (and others) set aside a few days of the year when a license is not required. These days are known as “Free Fishing Days”.
Free Fishing Days in Indiana 2024
According to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Indiana residents do not need a fishing license or a trout/salmon stamp to fish in the state’s public waters on Free Fishing Day. There are four FREE fishing days coming up this year in the state of Indiana.
