Harris County Public Health will host a free mobile health services initiative called Wellness on Wheels, which aims to increase access to services in the community officials consider a priority.
What residents should know
Details for the first event were announced by HCPH in a news release.
Attendees will have access to the following free services:
- Breast and cervical cancer screenings
- Vaccinations
- Dental examinations, including fluoride applications for children
- HIV testing and sexually transmitted infections
- Lead poisoning test
- Referrals to health services
Pet owners can also use the following services:
- Vaccinations
- Microchipping with a two-pet limit per household
- Low-cost adoptions
Future dates in other precincts have also been announced.
- Harris County Precinct 1: June 8
- Harris County Precinct 3: August 3
- Harris County Precinct 4: December 7

HCPH will work with two organizations to complete this year’s program.
- The Common Market: a Houston nonprofit that distributes family-owned farm products to organizations throughout the region, according to its website
- The Rose: a Texas-based nonprofit dedicated to breast health care
