New Delhi (India), January 24: In the moving account of the journey of Piyali Chatterjee, the founder of GlamPetz emerges as the unsung hero of countless pets and their owners in Goa. With her certification as a pet groomer and her commitment to redefine pet care, Piyali turned her passion into a thriving business, breaking down society’s belief systems and changing the pet care scene. state animal
More than a decade ago, Piyali’s path took an unexpected turn when he encountered a troubled German Shepherd during a vacation in Goa. Deeply moved by the plight of the dog, he saw a huge gap in the existing animal health care system – the lack of a professional pet grooming center in the region. This revelation fueled her decision to quit her HR job in a corporate organization and establish a pet sanctuary in Goa.
However, throughout his journey, the brand owner faced many obstacles. He braved the social cynicism and purposefully moved to his dream. Having checked all his savings, he spent two nights at the beach. After that he took financial help from his friends and rented a house. Over the next ten years, this pet lover not only ran his business to success, but also bought a three-story house and owned two cars.
In just three months, Piyali opened her pet salon, offering services that go beyond conventional grooming norms. He recognized the urgent need for special care and thus initiated treatments for fungal infections, breaking the cycle of temporary withdrawal from medications.
Today, in Porvorim, Piyali has an average of 10-12 dogs daily, and her salon remains open seven days a week.
The effect of GlamPetz is profound. Pet owners have moved from neglectful practices like locking them in the garage to scheduling regular grooming appointments. Piyali’s approach has not only saved pets from euthanized deaths but also brought joy to their lives, aligning his primary goals with the happiness of each furry client.
Piyali’s contribution is not limited to pet welfare. Her mission expanded to empowering women through franchise opportunities. She encourages frustrated women to break free from traditional jobs and find the fulfilling field of pet care entrepreneurship. His story exemplifies the belief that the pursuit of passion yields financial rewards and inner peace.
Finally, Piyali Chatterjee, the founder of GlamPetz offers career suggestions to the younger generation. Pet grooming can be a great career opportunity for pet lovers where they can also earn a lot of money. For example, as an HR professional, he used to earn ₹20000 per month. After setting up his first pet salon in Goa, he started earning ₹60000 per month in the initial years. After three years, his monthly income increased to 3 lakhs. Over time, he earned a turnover of 30 lakhs per year.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Piyali received many accolades, including the World Record for grooming more than 50 breeds of dogs in Goa. The World Human Rights Protection Commission awarded him a doctorate (honoris causa) in Pet Health Grooming. Additionally, GlamPetz was recognized as the Best Pet Salon in Goa and received the International India Pet Industry Award, demonstrating Piyali’s commitment to excellence in pet care.
GlamPetz is synonymous with Piyali Chatterjee’s steadfast dedication, providing a haven where pets are groomed and truly cared for. It is a story of love and the power of following one’s heart.
