Deanna Sharp moved her holistic pet care shop from RA Green Mercantile in Harmony Ridge on the River, near Neighbor’s Kitchen and Yard, in late April.
Fur Babies Wholesome Pet Food offers a variety of raw pet foods, supplements, homeopathic tinctures and more.
The past
Sharp said she has noticed a trend of preventable diseases and illnesses in pets throughout her decade in the field of veterinary medicine.
“Even when I feed my [pets] top-of-the-line kibble, canned, and minimally processed foods, they’re always getting sick,” Sharp said. “We’re always at the vet hospital for one reason or another.”
Sharp said she began researching what she could do to help her pets, and began focusing on the link between their food and health.
“I went down a rabbit hole to see what I could do,” Sharp said. “It’s like a light goes out—their food makes them sick.”
Sharp says based on what he’s learned, he switched his pets from kibble to raw food seven years ago, and has noticed a significant difference in their health—adding that he no longer “lives at the vet.”
The present
Since then, Sharp has completed countless courses, seminars, summits and conferences on raw feeding and pet nutrition, he said.
Sharp opened the doors to Fur Babies Wholesome Pet Food in July 2022, and says she hasn’t looked back.
Now located in Harmony Ridge on the River, Sharp said he has more space to offer a wider range of products.
