SANTA MONICA, CALIF. — Full Moon, a Perdue Farms brand, announced March 4 the launch of its newest human-grade pet nutrition product: Artisanal Sausage Slices. According to the company, these new responsibly sourced dog treats aim to give canine companions “the deli experience they deserve.”
Artisanal Sausage Slices is dedicated to pet owners looking for quality foods for themselves and, by extension, for their pets. The treats consist of fruits and vegetables that provide antioxidants, as well as premium animal proteins, all of which are 100% human-grade.
The ingredients for the treats come from USDA-approved family farms, according to Perdue, which gives them a human-food-quality smell and taste for tail-jumping family members. All Full Moon formulas, including the new line of Artisanal Sausage Slices, are free from corn, wheat, soy, glycerin, other fillers, and artificial preservatives, colors and flavors.
“We know that using whole, real ingredients provides the best taste and quality possible for our pets,” said Ryan Perdue, founder of Full Moon Pet and fourth-generation family member of Perdue. “With our new Artisanal line, we’re bringing the ‘fresh from the deli’ experience with tender and smoky sausage slices prepared with antioxidant-rich fruit and vegetable inclusions that are the perfect bite for small and large dogs.”
The new line includes Chicken Apple Sausages and Turkey Cranberry Sausages. The Chicken Apple recipe combines apple pieces with cage-free chicken, and the Turkey Cranberry formula includes whole cranberries and sweet potato pieces. Both recipes are intended to deliver a sweet and savory treat experience, and the visual inclusions on each slice of sausage add to the premium look of the treats.
Full Moon will sell its Artisanal Sausages Slices in 12-oz packages through Albertson’s, HEB, Hannaford, Food Lion and Amazon, as well as direct-to-consumer through FullMoonPet.com.
