MEQUON, WIS. — Fromm Family Foods announced its first foray into the frozen pet food category with the launch of Bonnihill Farms, a line of gently cooked, fresh/frozen dog food formulas. Inspired by Fromm’s farming heritage, the new line includes fresh recipes made in small batches and formulated with locally harvested ingredients from the Midwest.
“My family immigrated to the United States in the 1850s and came to this country with a love of freedom and a value system based on honesty and hard work,” said Bryan Nieman, brand director for Fromm Family Foods, which represents in the fifth generation of his family business. “They cultivated our land and built a legacy business rooted in quality, consistency and continuous innovation. Fresh/frozen diets are a completely new product offering for Fromm, expanding its variety of offerings while also following the company’s dedication to continuous innovation. The Bonnihill Farms line is manufactured in a purpose-built facility, representing a new addition to the Columbus, Wis.-based manufacturing campus. According to Fromm, this makes Bonnihill Farms’ new line unique in the frozen category, as many brands in the frozen space outsource production to co-packers.
The Bonnihill Farms collection will include three delicious formulas — CHICKiBOWLS, BEEFiBOWLS and TURKiBOWLS — all made with quality Midwest-sourced meats and produce. The diets are “carefully crafted” in Wisconsin using a sous-vide style cooking method that uses low temperatures to help maximize nutrient retention and flavor. The products are then frozen to maintain freshness. Diets can be served as a complete-and-balanced meal or meal topper.
