Owners of previously subscription-only dog food can now shop at the supermarket – and there’s an offer where you can save when you shop at Waitrose
A once ‘exclusive’ pet brand is bringing its ‘gourmet’ range of dog dinners to the masses – and it’s perfect for fussy pups. Marleybones was once a subscription-only pet food brandbut consumers can already find it on their local shelves Waitrose .
The ‘pantry fresh’ dog food brand launched at the posh supermarket chain on February 1, making it easier for owners to try out their dog treats without being tied to monthly deliveries.
Online, pet lovers can take their pick three of the Marleybones recipes, with Chic Nosh Chicken, Lush Nosh Lamb, and Boss Nosh Beef, included Posh Nosh Salmon also on the Marleynones site.
Each of the recipes is said to be made with natural and superfood-rich ingredients, including 60% fresh meat and fish, and gently steamed to preserve all its natural goodness without the need for freezing or harsh processing.
What’s more, they’re ‘pantry fresh’, which means they’re ready to go stored on the shelf until ready to eat, without taking up room in the fridge or freezer.
With a 4.8 rating on Trustpilot, the brand has already won the hearts of fussy dog owners, who say their the pet swallowed their bowl, and doing a ‘happy dance’ for their dinner.
One said: “If I could give more than 5 stars I would, I have a very busy Whippet to turn his nose up at some lovely kibble and wet food. But I found Marleybones via another whippet Instagram account and he swallowed it for the first time! I was surprised, I had never seen him eat so fast. Marleybones as a company is amazing! They are plastic-neutral, recyclable, support for farmers and their charity work is incredible! ”
Another added: “Ours dogs love eating Marleybones. We have tried other top brands but this is definitely a firm favorite from our two sons. The food is really good quality and even better, you don’t have to use half of your freezer because it can be kept in a cupboard until tomorrow. The website was very easy to use and the customer service was excellent when we were contacted.”
On a third comment: “My finicky cockapoo loves it! He is go back to doing a happy dance when it’s time for her food! He is healthy and fit with tons of energy and no stomach issues here. Having it on subscription means no worries if I run out either. Really pleased with the product and service!”
However, some said the packaging could be ‘a bit awkward’, writing: “My dog loves this food. He cries when he sees me take the cardboard out of the cupboard and he runs to the bowl every time ! The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars is because I find the packaging a bit awkward and I end up getting food in my hands. But it’s a small price to pay to see my dog enjoying his food very much!”
Suitable for dogs of all ages, the foods are grain, gluten and sugar free, with no colors, fillers or flavors, making it perfect for dogs with sensitive stomachs. They got an 82 percent rating on the All About Dog Food website, which ranks quality dog food brands. In comparison, Pooch and Mutt is 77 percent, while BECO’s wet pate is 72 percent.
