Police in the United States arrested a 17-year-old teenager known as the “Fish Bandit” for taping fish to ATMs and other objects. Arrested in Provo, Utah on Thursday, he is accused of using duct tape to attach fish to ATMs, bathroom doors, and even a police cruiser.
The Fish Bandit is a repeat offender, and a global one. He said he conducted some of his outside of Utah and even the US.
The teenager, whose identity has not been disclosed, apparently due to being a minor, posted on Instagram a video of a fish taped to an ATM, apparently located in a subway station in Tokyo .
Other “fishy” videos were reported from Frankfurt, Germany; Guatemala City, Guatemala; and Phoenix, Arizona.
Some of the fish were dead, while others were alive, authorities said.

The police were surprised by the “fish crimes” committed by the young man between August and November 2023.
He now faces charges of two misdemeanor counts of damage to property.
