BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) — Trust God Ministries and Rise in Victory Foundation are holding a “feed five thousand fish fry fundraiser” to raise money for a youth program.
Bruce Warrick founded the ministry.
He told 7 News reporter Yoselin Person that he has a heart for the youth.
“Right now our youth are looking for love,” he said. “They’re looking for someone who cares about them and I know that’s me.”
Bruce has been working in the community since 2016.
His mission has always been based on faith while teaching the youth in the same building.
He’s hoping this fundraiser – the fish fry meals he cooks every Friday for just $25 – will help his cause.
“The first program I want to do is self-trauma and self-trauma is dealing with their trauma as self-trauma increases self-control,” she said. “I believe that this is not only a new journey that I have to take, but having my own space for our young people to have a safe space to come.”
Others say it’s about coming together in the community to uplift the younger generation.
“The reason I’m with him is because you don’t see many men my age who love God the way I love him and try to do good for the youth,” said Brandon Lee, a member of organization.
“Conneway Cares,” a nonprofit by Conway the Machine, a Buffalo rapper, and Drumwork Music Group tell me that they will always be in full support of Bruce’s mission.
“A lot of times as adults we forget about our youth, but we also have to remember that once we were young and we were in the same position,” Stan Da Man, a producer of Drumwork Music Group. “So what we are doing now is bringing together the young and the old and Christ is beautiful.”
