CWA President Lynn Maria Thompson shared how proud they are to raise funds for the EveryCat Health Foundation. “[Their] Investing in cat health research has had a profound impact on the lives of millions of cats. Looking back on our 30 years of dedication to excellence in cat-centric written, visual, and audio media, and our shared love of cats, we feel that EveryCat is a perfect fit for our fundraiser.”
“We are absolutely delighted to be honored by The Cat Writers Association in this way,” said EveryCat Executive Director Jackie Ott Jaakola. “We are so impressed with their efforts to reach out to cat lovers everywhere and they both support our mission to help all cats everywhere. About the EveryCat Health Foundation
The EveryCat Health Foundation is the only nonprofit in the world dedicated solely to funding cat health studies and improving cat health care. With nearly 400 million companion cats bringing joy to their families worldwide, and cat ownership on the rise, cat health research remains underfunded compared to many other animals.
Their mission is to advance feline health by supporting groundbreaking research and education. “Every cat, every day benefits from our foundation.”
Founded in 1968 by The Cat Fanciers’ Association, the EveryCat Health Foundation awarded its first grant in 1971, and has since awarded more than $10 million in grants for groundbreaking cat health research to more than 30 partner institutions all over the world. Through the support of dedicated donors and partners, this funding was made possible. Research supported by the EveryCat Health Foundation helps veterinarians by providing educational resources that improve the treatment of common cat health problems and prevent many diseases. Grants are reviewed and awarded with the help of the foundation’s expert Scientific Review Committee.
They are still committed to their original vision of promoting the health and welfare of all cats, worldwide.
