DOYLESTOWN, PA — Doylestown Veterinary Hospital & Holistic Pet Care has announced the addition of Dr. Wendy Zimmerman to the hospital team as an associate veterinarian.
Dr. Zimmerman brings extensive experience in canine rehabilitation and veterinary acupuncture to the practice, positioning him as another valuable asset in the growth of holistic pet care services. His primary focus is integrative medicine, which combines traditional veterinary practices with holistic therapies to improve overall patient care outcomes.

“The bond between humans and animals is inspiring and has been central to pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. Dr. Zimmerman graduated in 2002 from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and received his undergraduate degree from Delaware Valley University. In 2006, he obtained his certification in veterinary acupuncture from Chi University in Florida. Dr. also trained. Zimmerman in dog rehabilitation at the University of Tennessee.

Dr. Zimmerman brings a wealth of experience to the practice, having spent part of his career working with canine rehabilitation and acupuncture patients at Rau Animal Hospital in Glenside since 2008. Prior to joining Doylestown Veterinary Hospital, he spent eight years as a Technical Services Veterinarian at Zoetis Animal Health. Prior to his role at Zoetis, Dr. successfully ran Zimmerman has owned his own mobile veterinary practice for 13 years.
In addition, he served as an adjunct professor at Manor College, where he taught anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology in the veterinary technician program. The passion of Dr. Zimmerman’s client learning began in the early stages of his career when he worked part-time for Pet Food Direct (later acquired by Chewy.com), producing educational videos as part of their client outreach efforts.
“We have been searching for over three years for the right person to join our growing team, and when we met Dr. Zimmerman, we knew the search was over. He combines exceptional patient care with current expertise in acupuncture and rehabilitation, and he is eager to learn more holistic modalities,” said Dr. Randy and Laura Weis, owners of Doylestown Veterinary Hospital and Holistic Pet Care.
Dr. Zimmerman is a Bucks County native from Langhorne. He and his wife have three children and a delightful array of family pets. Their family includes three dogs — a rescued Jack Russell terrier, a dog adopted from Puerto Rico, and a French Bulldog. Their other pets include three Guinea pigs, a hamster, and a beloved horse. Dr. loves Zimmerman spent time with his family, especially attending their dance competitions and basketball games. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the piano, and looks forward to more opportunities to ride her horse and run outside.
