A Newsweek A review of FDA records in May revealed that there has been a significant increase in the number of recalls for pet food products in recent years.
While some recalls have been initiated due to concerns of potential contamination by pathogens or other hazardous substances, other recalls have occurred due to the suspected presence of foreign metal objects.
More than 300 bags of “Pedigree Adult Complete Nutrition Grilled Steak & Vegetable Flavor Dry Dog Food” sold in four states were recalled last month after they were found to contain pieces of metal.
