Life has a way of changing in an instant—sometimes for the better, and sometimes for the worse. For one, he and his faithful dog, Hero, are taken to the streets of hard times. Together, they faced daily struggles, often without enough food or shelter. Despite these trials, the man’s love for Hero is unwavering. Realizing that he can no longer provide the care his beloved companion deserves, the man makes a heartbreaking but selfless decision. She surrendered Hero to a shelter in California, hoping for a better life for the dog she loved so much. Fortunately, a rescue group soon steps in to help give Hero the second chance he needs.
The rescue group transports pets from overcrowded shelters to British Columbia to give the animals the best chance to find a new home. Hero is chosen to join the rescue on the next trip to the North. A wonderful woman, Sarah, and her husband heard about Hero and went to meet him when he arrived. Sarah knows right away that she likes Hero but she wants her husband to decide for himself. As soon as her husband starts saying he wants to adopt Hero, Sarah chimes in and says she feels the same way!
Hero has found his forever family, and his future looks bright! He returned home with his new parents, and the couple were delighted with him. He’s this instant snuggle bug with a wonderful disposition.
Hero is a little lazy and would rather spend his days with his mom and dad than walking around. In fact, he seems overwhelmed by the outdoors, and his parents believe he must have been living outside all those years.
Hero also has his own safe place in his new home. If he gets scared, he goes into the bathroom and sits on the bath mat until his fear subsides. He even drags his ‘comfort’ mat to his mother when she seems distressed. The dog is very in tune with the emotions of his family.
