According to a 2023-2024 survey by the American Pet Products Association (APPA), 66 percent of US households own a pet, amounting to 86.9 million households, including 65.1 million with a dog.
US pet industry sales are expected to reach $150.6 billion by 2024, including $12.9 billion in services such as grooming, training, boarding, insurance, and pet sitting/walking among others even outside of veterinary care.
