Reflecting on a Decade of Challenges and Blessings
I want to share something personal with you today. Having recently turned 60, I reflect on the challenges and blessings I have experienced over the past decade.
When I turned 50 ten years ago, my new start-up company was struggling. I want to maintain my values and product quality, and bringing new business to a sustainable level is extremely difficult.
I also know that if I get investors, they will push me to focus more on the bottom line than you and your dogs, and I don’t want that to happen.
To make the necessary change, I changed the webstore provider and switched to Shopify, a new and promising company.
Unfortunately, the transition didn’t go smoothly at first, and we lost all traffic to our website within a few weeks. This is a death sentence for a small company like ours.
I’m confused!
In a last ditch effort, I sent a direct message on Twitter to Tobi Lutke, the CEO of Shopify, for help. To my surprise, he intervened, mobilized his top engineers, and got our website up and running again.
The whole episode was like a scene from a movie when a car goes off the road, stopping just inches away from falling off a cliff.
His kindness was the best gift for my 50th birthday.
Fast forward to January 2024, and I found myself turning 60. Like many people, I was not happy about it.
Additionally, I was diagnosed with a small benign tumor on my salivary gland, likely caused by previous neck injuries. I often talk about neck and collar injuries in dogs, so of course, I had to experience a similar problem.
*Ironically, what I teach, I get.*
Fortunately, I found a specialist surgeon in Prague who specializes in salivary gland procedures. The operation is scheduled for November.
Because of this challenge, I appreciate my overall good health. This prompted me to commit to being in the best shape of my life by improving my health routine, in addition to walking the dog with Pax.
I never meant to brag about it, but I realize that minimizing my accomplishments doesn’t serve anyone.
Achieving good health takes courage, a commitment to exercise, eating well, taking supplements, and prioritizing emotional and mental well-being.
Embracing Health and Wellness
I follow a specific health protocol, including recommendations from Dr. Greger and Dr. Peter Attia:
- Food based on their recommendations and research
- No sugar (except on the odd occasion, as a rare treat)
- No processed or pre-made food
- Exercise 6x a week in addition to walking the dog
But this only refers to a part of the results. Based on available research and science, the body needs to obtain the deficient food grown in depleted soils in order to be metabolically healthy.
Even when we are able to cut back on sugar and processed foods, our bodies still need additional nutrients to thrive.
The level of effects was surprising even for me, and I believe it’s okay if I share a photo I took this week before my fitness class.
When I was 20, I thought 40 was old, and 60 was ancient. I say this with humility, but I never thought I would feel so good!
I’m determined to spread the word because we all have dogs and people we love, and seeing them hurt is heartbreaking.
Not sharing equals not caring.
Supplements have been a game-changer for me, which is why I’m excited to share them with you. Here is Pax’s protocol and my supplement. I hope you try it yourself because health is the greatest wealth.
Human supplement protocol (which I am on):
-
SoulFood H+ multi-vitamin is fermented and contains turmeric and other herbs to support major organs, reduce inflammation, and prevent cancer.
-
GutSense H+ supports digestion, healthy bowel movements, and strengthens the immune system. Probiotics have been proven to be important mood enhancers.
-
GreenMin H+ provides essential minerals (Alga Calcarea), amino acids (spirulina), and cleansing greens (barley grass).
-
FeelGood Omega H+ – I currently take 3 grams (6 capsules) to protect my brain, maintain good memory, and promote healthy cell repair. Dementia and memory loss are partly caused by disruption of the blood-brain barrier, which causes inflammation of the brain. Omegas are scientifically proven and essential to prevent this from happening.
- I also cleanse with LiverTune once every six months for a month, but I also take two capsules once a week between the main cleanses, because it improves my energy level, strength, clarity of mind, and feeling of happiness.
You can get the best value out of this pack by purchasing the “Longevity Bundle” here:
Dog Protocol (with Pax on):
The canine protocol is very similar to the human protocol.
It consists of the FAB4 (SoulFood, GreenMin, GutSense, and Omega’s) plus a LiverTune cleanse every six months for one month (with a once weekly dose between monthly cleanses).
Also in JointButter is Pax, the new fermented mobility and joint support.
