Ziehnert Guide Service is expected to offer fishing boat charters at Dunham’s Bay Marina on Lake George for the upcoming summer fishing season.
The guide service will rent a dock and two parking spaces in Dunham’s Bay, where the charter will pick up four clients at the dock and take them fishing, with a maximum of two trips per day, according to planning documents. A special use permit is required for the proposal.
Ziehnert is an approved Lake George guide by the Lake George Park Commission.
“We will not be fishing in any part of Dunham’s Bay to appease the Dunham’s Bay Association to ensure we do not disturb any of the home owners. Most of our fishing is from the outside of Dunham’s Bay to the beginning of the narrows,” Ziehnert said in the planning documents.
According to the documents, the charter boat tour will start at the dock at Dunham’s Bay Marina and will reach the southern basin of the lake depending on the fishing location for the day.
