6-year-old Xander Mellor from Springfield, Illinois, has been saving for the past 18 months to buy a puppy. When Natalie Ellenburg came home from work, she would politely ask him for her change and deposit it in her savings jar.

Xander stopped buying sweets and treats because he wanted a puppy of his own. When his grandparents hear about his fascinating quest, they decide to visit him to make his wish come true!

In this video, Xander happily runs out of the house when he sees his grandparents’ car. Grandma asked him to close his eyes and hold out his hands for a “gift” as he approached the car door.
The boy was ‘all smiles’ as he waited for Grandma’s gift, but his eyes widened in complete shock when he saw a cute little puppy placed in his arms!

Xander tried to smile gratefully for Grandma but he couldn’t hold back his emotions for long. The heartbroken child ends up crying happy tears as she lovingly holds her beloved puppy. We wish Xander many happy and adventurous years as he makes memories with his furry friend!
