KEARNEY, Neb. — The staff at Beebout Veterinary Medical Center is at the forefront of treating our pets’ ailments with revolutionary medicine, addressing every aspect of their health from a different angle. A striking example of their comprehensive approach is the use of an underwater treadmill.
Emphasizes Dr. Brandon Beebout the versatility of the underwater treadmill, emphasizing its many benefits. Warm water facilitates the flow of tissues, which promotes increased circulation and subsequently reduces inflammation.

Ciera was born with a misalignment of her elbow joints, resulting in elbow dysplasia. He began to show clinical signs such as pain, swelling, and limping at the age of five.
With the chronic stuff, the chronic sense has been there for a long time that Ciera isn’t like “you’re done on the treadmill”, that’s something she has to use for the rest of her life and will continue to do. He has a weekly treadmill treatment. It benefits him, especially since he is now 12 years old.
Dr. Beebout performs a lot of orthopedic surgeries and says his post-ACL patients are trying to maintain body muscle, leg muscle mass, and trying to speed up the healing process through low-impact weight-bearing.
“Obviously when you’re in water, you’re floating, and so we can reduce that weight or the impact of that weight and speed up the healing process,” said Dr. Beebout.

When staples are out two weeks from ACL surgery, you get one a week for six weeks in a package deal. Then you are done in a few hours.
said Dr. Beebout the treadmill can be used in cold weather for pets who need to swim to help relieve a pet’s arthritis or for a dog to shed the extra pounds they have added because it is difficult to exercise in the winter months.
The treadmill can accommodate dogs of all shapes and sizes, and even cats can use it. It can even be used on a dry setting if needed.
