There were more than 400 pets living with people who lost their homes on August 8, who were in temporary hotel housing. To help them, the Maui Humane Society opened the Lahaina Pet Resource Center on Wednesday, which includes a mobile veterinary clinic, support from MHS’s Wildfire Community Liaison, and free food and pet supplies, according to a news release. The mobile veterinary clinic will provide weekly health services, such as vaccines, microchips and flea prevention.
