NEWBURGH, Ind. (WISH) — A Newburgh woman was arrested Monday afternoon after state police say she surrendered then re-selected hundreds of pets so she could resell them after they were vaccinated. Indiana State Police began investigating 35-year-old Jamie Hubiak while looking into Warrick County Animal Control for misappropriation of funds. Detectives learned that Hubiak surrendered seven black poodle puppies to animal control in January 2023. After the puppies were surrendered, the dogs were vaccinated, and Hubiak later picked them up again the same day.
