Washington officials are asking the public to test a new version of a mobile phone app that allows users to view fishing regulations for waterbodies across the state. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife announced in a news release Thursday that Fish Washington 2.0 is in the final stages of beta testing and is available for public download. Deer Lake will soon be an option for ice fishermen. The Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission on Friday approved a year-round season for the lake south of Chewelah. A bag limit of five lake trout with no more than one larger than 26 inches was also approved. Under current rules, the lake closes to fishing on Nov. 30 per year and no bag limit on lake trout.
