CINCINNATI — Construction continues on Nestlé Purina PetCare’s newest manufacturing facility in Clermont County, Ohio. The company expects the new dry pet food plant to be fully operational within 12 months, according to a recent update from Purina.The new 1.3 million-square-foot property in Williamsburg Township will manufacture Purina’s Pro Plan, ONE and Dog Chow brands of dry dog and cat food. This is the first facility Purina has built from the ground up since 1975. WASHINGTON — The Pet Food Uniform Regulatory Reform Act of 2024 (PURR Act) proposes to modernize and streamline how food and pet food are regulated. The bipartisan legislation, HR 7380, introduced on Feb. 15, proposes to give the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulatory authority over the labeling and ingredient testing process for food and dog and cat food.
