Minneapolis Animal Care and Control (MACC), the city-run animal shelter in Minneapolis, is waiving and lowering pet adoption fees while aiming to keep space at the shelter, which is at maximum capacity. This month, the MACC announced that Minneapolis residents will pay $0 in adoption fees when adopting a dog over six months old or a cat. For non-residents, dog adoption fees were lowered from $250 to $100 and cat adoption fees were lowered from $100 to $25.
