Six puppies have been rescued by Wiltshire Council after they were abandoned on the side of the road.
The eight-week-old crossbreeds were found by a member of the public in the Ashton Keynes area of Wiltshire on Monday.
Nick Holder, cabinet member for public protection for the authority, said the puppies were possibly a poodle cross.
She added that if no one claims them, they will be returned through the Bath Cats and Dogs Home.
The colorful mess of puppies was spotted by the roadside in the village of Leigh.
The council said the dogs were mixed sex but none of the animals were microchipped.
Mr Holder added that the dogs weighed between 3kgs (6.6lbs) and 4.5kgs (9.9lbs ) and all appeared to be healthy.
“We will hold them in our stray kennels for seven days, which is a legal requirement, and if no one claims them they will be rehomed through Bath Cats and Dogs Home who we work closely with for everyone of our wild dog,” he said.
“All puppies have potential adopters.”
