A couple is devastated because their puppy died after eating a toy from Amazon. Miss Red Collar was only seven weeks old when she had to go to the vet.
He chewed the toy and it stuck to his tummy. Even after an operation to remove it, he did not survive.
The other two puppies are also sick and need surgery.

Steven Pooley, 58, and his partner Gulin Milne, 52, were really upset. They have to pay around £4,000 for the vet for all the puppies.
Steven said: “It’s really scary. I’m absolutely devastated. We’ve been raising these puppies for almost eight weeks, in our home and all around us. We’ve become very attached to them.
“We have loved and cared for them every moment of every day. This is absolutely horrible. I just want to warn others not to buy them and put their pets at risk. This is the green bone and the pink heart that broke apart. The toys weren’t even chew proof. The puppies bit them and swallowed them. There were no handles lying around so we just assumed the toys were gone.”
Steven and Gulin help their Alaskan malamutes Nala and Bryn raise 10 puppies. The litter was about seven weeks old when they gave the dogs a package of chew toys on February 10. That same night, Steven noticed that two chew toys were gone.
On February 11, Miss Red Collar did not eat lunch or dinner. After that day, he got sick six times, and the last one smelled like poop, according to Steven. Shortly after beginning his internet search, Steven suspected a blockage in the puppy’s stomach. He quickly took her to the emergency vet.
Despite doctors’ efforts to remove four pieces of rubber from his intestine and help him regain his strength, he sadly died while recovering from surgery. Another puppy named Mr Gray Collar also got sick and needed surgery on February 16. Two days later, on February 18, Mr Brown Collar, another of their puppies, had the same surgery. Both survived, and all other puppies need to be evaluated.
Steven added: “It wasn’t until the vet sent over the specimen pot that we realized what had caused the blockage – we were wracked with guilt at the thought of what we’d left behind. damage. I couldn’t believe it. We’d found shelter for this puppy and we had to call and tell them – it’s really heartbreaking.”
Steven contacted Amazon about the incident.
He said: “I just want pet owners to be aware. We’re physically and mentally exhausted. This is not just because of what we’re going through but because of our real fear that other owners and pups will be going through the same trauma and possible death. We feel we should be compensated for this, but we don’t want to make any profit from it so we plan to donate any compensation to a charity we know called Sally’s Helpful Paws.”
Amazon is investigating.
An Amazon spokesperson said: “Customer safety is a top priority and we require all products offered in our store to comply with applicable laws, regulations and Amazon policies. We ensure that our selection is meets industry-accepted standards, and we are developing innovative tools to prevent unsafe. products from being listed. The product in question has been removed while we investigate.”
