Sisu, a stray dog living on the streets of North Carolina, is lonely and afraid. While on his journey to find food, he saw a shop. The shop window displayed all kinds of goodies, from home gadgets to children’s toys. Sisu is only interested in one thing: a purple plush unicorn. The toy’s eyes and soft fur immediately captured Sisu’s heart, but there was one problem. Sisu has no money or means to buy a unicorn. He watched people go in and out of the store, eager for their entrance. He has to make a plan to get to his plush soulmate.
The wild one peeked inside the store, but the workers quickly let him out. He didn’t belong there, and the stray population in the area was huge. But Sisu persisted. He waits outside the store every day and comes back inside whenever he can. But, alas, he was repeatedly rejected. Still separated from her beloved unicorn, she stepped outside, heartbroken. Finally, a worker, moved by Sisu’s plight, stood up and called Duplin County Animal Services.
Rescuers showed up quickly. The store worker explained to animal control officers how smart Sisu was and how desperately they wanted to find her a home. One officer was so moved by Sisu’s mission to get to the unicorn that he bought it himself before taking them to the shelter.
