IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. announced this week it officially launched Vello, a software solution that connects veterinary practices with its clients through digital tools. Vello will enable veterinary practices using ezyVet, Neo, and Cornerstone software to communicate with pet owners in one easy-to-use system.
“Practice productivity continues to be a top priority for veterinary clinics, and we are committed to delivering cloud-based software that creates efficiencies,” said Jay Mazelsky, president and chief executive officer of IDEXX. in an organizational release.1 “Using the Vello solution, practices can streamline workflows by managing pet owner communications within their existing practice management software, fostering stronger client relations, and improving care for pets.”
According to the release,1 the main features that will be available when Vello launches are:
- Automated appointment reminders and confirmations to help reduce clients who don’t show up for their pet’s appointment.
- Health service reminders to keep clients up to date on upcoming or past services such as health visits or immunizations.
- Online scheduling gives pet parents a convenient way to request appointments directly from health services reminders or the Vello software.
- Pet owner mobile experience to reduce the need for application downloads. This feature will provide fully digital access to pet health records, appointment information, prescription history, test results, and more.
- Two-way texting that allows pet owners and veterinary teams to communicate instantly as well as automatically update patient records and communication logs with unlimited number of character or for more fees.
- Pre-appointment instructions to encourage diagnostic and visit compliance such as stool or urine sample reminders and drop-off and pick-up times.
“Vello automates the way we interact with clients, eliminating duplicative administrative work, saving our team time on a weekly basis and significantly reducing no-shows and cancellations,” Kendall said. Vello will be available as a subscription service for ezyVet, Neo, and Cornerstone software in the United States in March 2024 and in Canada in the second quarter of the year.
