Last-mile delivery service DoorDash has added 720 new pet product retail locations through a new partnership with Pet Supplies Plus, the San Francisco-based delivery company announced Tuesday.
It makes pet products available through same-day delivery for a wide range of household pets, including cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, small animals, and fish, DoorDash said in a press release release.
“This new partnership with DoorDash provides another option for our neighbors to get what they need to give their pets a happy and healthy life,” said Chris Rowland, CEO of Pet Supplies Plus, in the press release. “We pride ourselves on being a one-stop shop for pet parents, and now we can reach even more people as our brand grows.”
DoorDash says it offers more than 400,000 pet products since launching its pets vertical in 2020. “Consumers can now access all of their pets’ daily needs animals – from food and grooming supplies to toys and accessories – all in less than an hour, on DoorDash,” the company said.
The delivery company’s growing pet supply business follows the rise of the US pet supply market, which is expected to increase from $128.6 billion by mid-2023 to $195.6 billion by 2030, according to Bloomberg Intelligence.
The Bloomberg report from July states that approximately 27.5% of survey respondents shop for their pet products at either Walmart or Target.
