A shocking incident in a Las Vegas grooming salon has left a dog owner devastated. The owner says that his beloved dog is paralyzed in the salon. Subsequently, he had no choice but to to euthanize his pet
The groomer allegedly paralyzed the Maltese-Yorkie mix dog
After visiting Lucky’s Pet Grooming and Boutique in Las Vegas, Makisha Davis said her beloved pet was left paralyzed. Because of this, he had to opt for the euthanization of Tuffy, a 4-year-old Maltese and Yorkie mix, according to KTNV.
When Tuffy was acquired in December 2023, Davis harbored concerns about an apparent injury sustained during a grooming session. This prompted a discussion among the salon staff. However, Davis said their response only intensified her frustration and anguish.
Davis described the situation, “I was looking at him [Tuffy’s] legs, and her legs are straight, not one crooked in them.” Continuing, she added, “The lady [at the salon] said… ‘You gave him to us like this,’ and was like, ‘No, I didn’t. I didn’t give my dog to you like this.’”
Subsequently, a visit to the vet revealed that Tuffy had suffered a ruptured disk in his back, resulting in paralysis. Davis recounted how the vet informed her that the necessary surgery would come with a hefty price tag of more than $10,000. This leaves the dog owner with a difficult choice.
As a result, Davis had to put his furry friend down.
Despite Davis reporting the incident to animal control, she was told nothing could be done due to a lack of evidence.
In a similar incident, Margarita Bicana had the same response three years ago when her dog Turbina allegedly broke its jaw at this grooming salon.
The grooming salon now has several 1-star reviews on Google. Many pet owners shared photos, videos and comments, blaming the staff for their pets’ injuries.
According to the owner of the salon, these accusations are false.
