OREANDA-NEWS Since the beginning of the year, on February 19, Russian fishermen have caught 745.9 thousand tons of aquatic biological resources – 8.2% higher than the level on the same date last year, according to the Telegram channel of All- Russian Association of Fisheries Enterprises, Entrepreneurs and Exporters (WARPE).
“From the beginning of 2024 to February 19, Russian fishermen caught 745.9 thousand tons of aquatic biological resources (plus 8.2% compared to last year). About 88% of the catch was in the Far East,” the report said. .
Production by main types is distributed in pollock (476.7 thousand tons, plus 7.8% compared to last year), Pacific herring (114.1 thousand tons, plus 73.4%), cod (52 thousand tons, plus 0.6% ), Baltic herring (2.7 thousand tons, minus 46%) and sprats (5.3 thousand tons, minus 51.8%).
According to VARPE, the production of fish products increased by 15% on the same date compared to the same period in 2023, to 485.1 thousand tons.
