Scenthound, a company that offers monthly grooming, grooming and grooming services for dogs, will soon open in Mt. Juliet, its first franchise in Tennessee.
Clark Cummings and his daughter Caroline Linville will operate the franchise, located in a 1,200-square-foot building in the Graves Crossing commercial center at 650 S. Mt. Juliet Road. Linville, 26, is making a career change from registered nurse. Cummings is in banking and will continue there as well as being involved with Scenthound, which is slated to open in mid-November.
The brand’s care focuses on skin, coat, ears, nails and teeth. Scenthound will offer three membership levels that can be renewed monthly and “are packaged in a way to get the basic services your dog needs,” Cummings said.
Level 1 ($39): The dog will have a double bath, nails trimmed, ears cleaned, teeth brushed and gland checked.
Level 2 ($49): All Level 1 services are included, as well as virtual vet access, where dog owners can ask questions that can determine if a vet’s care is needed. Also included is a nail grind that can help reduce damage to furniture.
Level 3 ($69): All Level 1 and 2 services are included, with unlimited access beyond once per month as needed.
Additional services such as basic one-length haircuts are also offered separately.
The Scenthound concept is somewhere between a veterinarian and a traditional dog groomer, Cummings said.
Scenthound only works with dogs and does not provide services to cats. This is not a kennel.
Store plan of Mt. Juliet to start with eight staff members and partner with a local shelter to increase opportunities for adoptions and encourage dog owners to maintain good hygiene for their pet’s health.
The former Mt. Juliet O’Charley will be Chase Bank
The former location of the O’Charley building in Mt. Juliet’s Providence Marketplace that closed in July 2022 is being converted into a Chase Bank, officials said.
Estimates are it will open in the fourth quarter, Chase Bank spokesman Greg Hassell said. Chase Bank is also looking to open branches in Brentwood and in the West End area of Nashville near Vanderbilt University, Hassell said. Chase Bank now has 19 branches in the greater Nashville area, he said.
Five below head to the old Tuesday Morning location
A Five Below store is planned for the space formerly occupied by Tuesday Morning in the Publix shopping center, said Mt. Juliet City Manager Kenny Martin.
Space renovation work continues. Additional information was not immediately available.
