This is a bittersweet announcement for me … and possibly for you as part of the Pet Pangea community.
Here’s the bittersweet one: Pet Pangea will permanently leave the Central Park Square storefront location at 6pm on Feb. 27.
And here’s the sweet:
A new, exciting chapter for Pet Pangea is upon us! Our plans are still TOP SECRET, but we’ll let you know what’s happening as it happens. However, we don’t want you to be without your favorite pet foods, treats, or anything your pet may need while we work on ways to serve you better.
Join Us For TOP SECRET Stock Up Sale Through Tuesday, 2/27/24
Keep your pet happy by stocking up on all the goodies your pet wants and needs before the doors close for the last time on Central Park Square. During this event, the more you buy, the more you save!
The TOP SECRET Sale will run on these days and times
- Saturday, Feb. 24 10 am to 6 pm
- Sunday, Feb. 25 noon to 6 pm
- Monday, Feb. 26 noon to 6 p.m
- Tuesday, Feb. 27 10 am to 6 pm
Shop early to get everything you want and need! We expect to run out of some items and categories. Also, search those wallets for Pet Pangea gift cards. Please use them before closing. And please note that our website sales, product hold, home delivery services are now suspended so we can focus on delivering to you in store during the TOP SECRET Stock Up Sale.

Continue Downtown Dogs’ weekly dog walking group. Beginning in March, the group will meet at Ashley Pond near the stage at 10:30 a.m. every Saturday for a walk through downtown Los Alamos. Please remember to bring bags to pick up after your dog and keep your dog on a regular leash, no longer than 6 feet.
Provide LIVE food. You don’t want to drive a million miles for crickets or worms for your reptile after Feb. 27? Or for frozen rats or mice for your snake? We don’t want you to have to do that, either. You can still buy crickets, worms, and frozen mice and rats from us. Starting in March, stop by the Los Alamos Small Business Center at 190 Central Park Square, Suite 121. You can find us there Wednesdays from 4-6 pm and Thursdays from 11 am to 1 pm
Accept donations for local non-profit Champions of Youth Ambitions’ pet supplies drive. They are collecting pet supplies for their project at Pets and Vets, and the LA and SF animal shelters, through the end of February. Anyone who purchases treats or toys from Pet Pangea for the C’YA donation box will get a 15% discount on those items.

Thank you in advance for your support and for your patience with us as we navigate the end of this chapter in the store’s history. While closing this chapter is bittersweet, we look forward to our next chapter. Our adopted turtle Yertle reminded me of this apt sentiment from Dr. Seuss: “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.” Actually. Yertle is a smart turtle.
Our Central Park Square location is full of great memories. We raise funds for less fortunate pets through Santa Paws. You came to our Pajama Party event, and we all had a great time. I have witnessed countless shy adoptable dogs blossom over time under your loving care. You, our beloved community of pet parents, have shared true joy with us. And, we also shared grief, in the passing of a pet.
Thank you for the great honor of serving you and your pets all these years at Central Park Square. We are excited for what happens next!
While our next chapter remains TOP SECRET, the Stock Up Sale is not! Tell all your pet parent friends to come in and see us before the deadline, Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024. The more the merrier!
