OAK CREEK, WIS. — On Feb. 7, Stella & Chewy’s launched its new dental treats for dogs, called Dental Delights. According to the company, the product serves as a fun and engaging treatment that is clinically proven to help control plaque and tartar, supporting oral health.
According to the American Veterinary Dental Society, more than 80% of dogs show signs of some oral disease by age three. Additionally, dental disease is one of the most common medical conditions veterinarians see, according to Angie Krause, DVM, CVA, CCRT at Boulder Holistic Health and Stella & Chewy’s veterinary partner.
“As a veterinarian, I strongly believe that with the right tools and knowledge, pet parents can help maintain their furry friend’s dental hygiene and can play a role in preventing oral health issues at home, Krause said. “Like the rest of the Stella & Chewy” portfolio, Dental Delights are made with quality ingredients and are a fun way for dogs to play and stay mentally active.”
Stella & Chewy’s Dental Delights are specifically designed to roll and flip, giving dogs extra stimulation while also promoting oral health. The treats consist of a ridge and nub texture to aid in flossing and scraping. They also contain peppermint and parsley flakes to freshen breath and cage-free, freeze-dried chicken to add flavor.
“At Stella & Chewy’s, we’re always looking for innovative ways to promote pet health, whether it’s through food or preventative care,” said Rob Nelson, vice president of brand for Stella & Chewy’s . “We are excited to enter the dental category with Dental Delights to provide pet parents with a treat that can show their dog love with its attractive design while also maintaining dental hygiene.”
Dental Delights are available in four sizes: extra-small, small, medium and large, with single-serve treats available in three sizes: small, medium and large. They will be available online and at select neighborhood pet stores across the United States starting this month. The treats will also be available at Petco stores starting in April.
