The shocking incident sparked outrage from animal activists and dog lovers in India. This prompted authorities to order the popular pet grooming facility to cease operations.

Two men — who were staff at the grooming facility — were caught on video beating the 3-year-old Chow Chow, named Tofu. The owner brought and dropped off the dog at the facility for treatment.
News9 Live reported that one staffer rained punches on the dog while the other was recording and joined in the gruesome act. The disturbing clip has gone viral. Police arrested two men, who now face animal cruelty charges.
Vidit Sharma – founder of an animal health organization in India, Save A Stray – took to social media to share the clip alongside a post condemning the cruel mistreatment of the puppy, as reported by Odishatv.in News.
Sharma wrote: “Shocking incident at Vetic Vet Clinic in Mumbai Thane. Individuals responsible for such abuse should be behind bars. Proper background verification should be done before hiring staff at grooming. This behavior is absolutely disgusting – no pet should have to endure such treatment.”
Fortunately, officials confirmed that the dog is currently in stable condition. As such, the shocking video has prompted pet owners to caution others against leaving their dogs alone with groomers.
One pet owner wrote online: “I’d rather not travel if I had to leave my cat at some pet care without cameras for supervision. A disgusting video of abuse on animal came out of my town, at the hands of the groomers of a famous clinic called Vetic Pet Clinic.” The social media user concluded by warning others, “Don’t leave your pet alone while grooming.”
